Xinrui completed her B.S. degree in Chemistry at Sichuan University in 2018 where she studied halogenation of C–H bonds. Xinrui also completed her M.S. in Chemistry at the University of Ottawa where she studied Ru catalyzed olefin metathesis. She joined the Gunnoe group in 2024 where she is working on late transition metal catalyzed C–H activation.
